[SECURITY] Saving human lives
A few years ago, the European Union launched the initiative, which aimed to instal a special system
called eCall (an abbreviation of the English term “emergency call”) in every new car. If a serious accident
occurs, eCall allows the car to assess the severity of the accident on its own, without human
intervention, and alert the competent emergency services that the accident occurred, send them the
location and other sensory information, and open a telephone line between the car and these services.
The speed of this system’s reaction can mean the difference between life and death in some situations.
